Word, Excel, and PowerPoint open LegalWork in a side pane. In Word, the agent writes with tracked changes, leaving every edit available to accept or reject.

Is LegalWork free and open source?
Yes. The desktop app is MIT licensed and free for individual use on macOS and Windows. You can inspect or fork the code and connect your own model. Managed firm deployments with shared administration, identity controls, audit logging, and support are offered separately.
Does matter data leave the computer?
The workspace, local agent, and documents run on the computer. If you use a local model, inference stays there as well. If you connect a hosted model, the content needed for the task is sent to that selected provider under your provider agreement. Eigenwelt's free trial models log usage and must not be used with matter, client, or privileged data.
What do the Office add-ins do?
They open the same LegalWork agent in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. In Word, the agent can revise a document using tracked changes. The add-ins connect to the local LegalWork app, so the document stays in the Office application and the matter workspace remains the source of context.
How does Tabular Review stay grounded?
Documents become rows and the fields selected by the lawyer become columns. Each extracted cell carries a short answer, reasoning, a source quote, and a page reference. If support cannot be found, the cell says so. The result can be reviewed interactively and exported to CSV.
What is Fusion mode?
Fusion mode lets the main model delegate a substantive task to up to three selected models working in parallel. The main model then compares their candidate answers and synthesizes the final response. Normal follow-up conversation stays with the main model.
What changes in a firm deployment?
Firm deployments add central administration, identity controls, audit logging, approved model routing, shared Skills and connector templates, and private benchmarks. The aim is to make the firm's working methods reusable without moving ownership of its data, models, or evaluation standards to a software vendor.
